Insights for fun Spring Recharge in Las Vegas

1/ Stay on or close to the Strip

Stay close to all the action on the Strip whether you want to enjoy the Las Vegas nightlife or not. It’s central to everything in Las Vegas which makes getting around by Uber relatively easy and affordable.

i/ Four Seasons

The Four Seasons hotel is located on the south end of the Strip in the Mandalay Bay hotel. If you’re planning to take in an event at the Raiders stadium or want a quieter Las Vegas experience, it’s a good choice. The hotel has a separate entrance and all the amenities that you need and expect of the Four Season including a great spa.

The one benefit that it noteworthy is the outdoor space on the backside of the entrance and lobby bar. It gives you quick access to a relaxing outdoor experience with fire pits that draw in guests for impromptu meetings. It was reminiscent of our bonfire experience at Lake Louise. Order a nice drink and some snacks from the lobby bar to enhance the experience.

ii/ Fontaine Bleau

The Fontaine Bleau is on the north end of the Strip close to the convention center which makes it ideal for business travelers. With that said, it’s also a good choice for a recharge trip for those who want to be seen. It offers all the services of a expected of a luxury casino hotel and more.

The food court offers a variety of high quality food and nice tables for enjoying your meal without the full cost of a sit-down meal. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or late night snack. The hotel also has a variety of luxury shops and signature restaurants and bars to keep you entertained on the property.

iii/ The Wynn

The Wynn and Encore are also on the north end of the Strip but not as far north as the Fontaine Bleau. The casino is in the hotel lobby which gives it a darker and smokier vibe than the Fontaine Bleau but it has all the amenities of a luxury casino hotel. It’s a good option is you want to shop and explore all the Strip has to offer.

One of the Wynn experiences worth adding to your list is The Buffet. The Buffet offers all types of cuisine including a variety of fresh shell fish and premium beef. For that reason, it’s not an inexpensive meal but a good experience even for those following a plant-based diet.

2/ Venturing off the Strip

The Red Rock Canyon is worth venturing off the Strip to explore especially if you enjoy spending time in nature. It’s a large national park with programs at the visitor center about the history and wildlife, a scenic drive to see the full park, hiking and excursion to tour the park by dune buggy, horseback or bike.

If you plan to hike, try to book morning access to the park especially as the weather gets hotter. Signs at the trailheads advise telling someone where you are going and to wear a hat, hiking boots and sunscreen. Carry water and snacks with you.

The hikes might not seem long especially to experienced hikers but the conditions make it much more strenuous. There is not much shelter on the trails so it doesn’t long to experience heat exhaustion on a hot, sunny day. Plan more than one visit to the park to take in all that it has to offer.

3/ Eat on your way to/from Red Rock Canyon

Stop in Summerlin which is one of the planned Las Vegas communities for food or to stroll the downtown. Three restaurants that are family friendly and on the way to/from Red Rock Canyon.

i/ North Italia: Fresh and affordable Italian food with a lively vibe.

ii/ Flower Child: Plant-based fast casual that you can take with you on a hike or enjoy onsite.

iii/ Honey Salt: Healthy plant-based meals that you can enjoy onsite or get delivered.

4/ Enjoy a show

It probably goes without saying but a Las Vegas trip is not a trip without taking in at least one show. The Cirque Du Soleil shows are always good and the VIP tickets really add to the experience. The Beatles Love show is a new favorite.

Even if you don’t think you’re a Beatles fan, go to the show. You’ll recognize more songs than you expect and the behind the scenes tour that’s part of the VIP ticket will enrich your experience. Savor it because it feels like an end of era.

5/ Take a spin on the High Roller

Get a birds eye view of Las Vegas and the strip on the High Roller. Time it right and you’ll catch the Bellagio Water Show from the sky. If you don’t book the cabin with the bar, bring drinks and snacks purchased at the concession stand with you for the 30 minute ride. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a night on the Strip or your Spring Recharge in Las Vegas.
